Be Disciples
The greatest gift given to mankind is the ability to be disciples of Jesus through the work of salvation. Disciples are followers of Jesus who have been forgiven of their sin through belief in His person, death, and resurrection. Disciples have repented of their sin and called on Jesus to be the Lord and Master of their life. In John 15:7-8 Jesus says that we will “BE DISCIPLES” if we abide in Him and bear much fruit. Jesus is saying that to be a disciple is to remain connected with Him through Scripture and the Holy Spirit. As we stay connected to Him, we are enabled to live the life He has called us to live and bear much fruit.
make Disciples
Before Jesus left the earth He commissioned His followers to, “Go and make disciples of all nations…” We believe the final words of Jesus were the marching orders for every Christian for all ages until Jesus returns. In order to live out discipleship in our lives we must first BE DISCIPLES, but we must also seek to MAKE DISCIPLES. Every Christian is called to be a disciple-maker. God has given each one of His children special gifts and abilities to help accomplish this mission, so that many will hear and believe in the Gospel.
