HOW DO I REGISTER?
All registrations are completed and paid for through the Upward Sports online registration system. See “Register Now” at the bottom of page.
WHY SHOULD I REGISTER EARLY?
If you like saving money, our early registration/discount begins September 23 and ends October 31. The cost is $65 (add $15 for optional shorts). Regular full-price registration begins November 1 and ends November 11. The cost is $90 (add $15 for optional shorts.)
HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT SIZE UNIFORM MY CHILD WILL NEED?
During the registration process, you see a drop-down box or link to a sizing chart. Please take the time to measure your child to get the best match on the sizing chart. Many players prefer to size up one size on the SHORTS which have a drawstring. Exchanges will be available, but they will not arrive in time for first-game weekend.
WHEN DOES THE LEAGUE START AND END?
Practices begin the week of December 5, 2022. We will have two weeks of practice, break for Christmas, and resume the week of January 2, 2023. Games begin the weekend of January 6 & 7. Our last game weekend will be February 24 & 25. Our end-of-season Awards Night Celebration will be Monday, February 27.
HOW DOES MY CHILD GET PLACED ON A TEAM?
Each player will attend a mandatory evaluation, held in our gym, where he/she will be measured for height and guided through a few skills and drills that will help iden-tify his/her skill level. These evaluations provide scores which are designed to help create balanced teams and give each player an opportunity to improve his/her basketball skills.
CAN I REQUEST THAT MY CHILD BE ON THE SAME TEAM AS HIS/HER FRIEND?
No, in a league this size, we do not have the capacity of providing friend requests.
WHEN AND WHERE ARE PRACTICES?
All practices take place in our gym at First Baptist Muskogee. Teams practice one night per week for one hour on Mondays, Tuesdays, OR Thursdays. During the registration process, parents will be able to exclude ONE night their child is unavailable for practice. Practice nights will be assigned by availability.
WHEN ARE GAMES? DO WE TRAVEL?
All games are played in our gym at First Baptist Muskogee. All games are innerleague play. No travel required.
I WOULD LIKE TO COACH MY CHILD’S TEAM. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
Volunteer coaches are the backbone of our ministry! Please be aware that anyone who wants to serve in a position of authority in our league, such as Coach, Assistant Coach, etc., must pass a complete background check PLUS complete our Ministry Safe online class.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHO MY CHILD’S COACH IS AND WHAT TEAM HE/SHE IS ON?
Coaches will be calling, emailing, and texting their parents the week of November 28, the week after Thanksgiving. It is critical that you reply to their emails, calls, or messages. This is how you will find out your child’s team name, practice night, and practice time.
