Food Assistance

The Food Pantry is open on Tuesday and Thursdays, 10:00 a.m.-12 noon, and also on Tuesday evenings 6:00-8:00 p.m. Exception:  We will be closed on the first Thursday of the month until further notice.

Utility Assistance

First Baptist Church partners with First United Methodist Church in helping with gas and electric utility bills.  We can help with only one (1) utility bill every 12 months.  Applications are taken every Tuesday at First Methodist, 600 East Okmulgee between the hours of 9:00-11:00 a.m.  Please take a photo ID, Social Security card and your cutoff notice or most recent bill.

Other Assistance

First Baptist has two small rooms for hospital patients from out of town  having treatment locally requiring multiple days.  The rooms are used for the patient themselves or for family.  We hope to make a hospital visit more comfortable and affordable for the family.

LOCATION

The Community First Center sits on the corner of 8th and Boston streets, directly behind the Muskogee Public Library.  Contact the Community First Center at 918-351-8771.

JOHN 6:27

Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life.  We love giving out food to our neighborhood, but we're really excited to share about the eternal nourishment Jesus provides.  Jesus says in John 6:35,  I am the Bread of Life.

Next Steps...

You are allowed to visit the pantry one (1) time each calendar month, and a limit of six (6) visits each calendar year.  Each visit, you will be asked to fill out an intake form.  You will need a photo ID, a Social Security card (not just the number) for each member of your household you list on the form and a proof of residence in Muskogee County, such as a utility bill dated within the last 30 days or a dated rent receipt with your address on it (if utilities are included in your rent.)

We operate under the supervision of the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, who sets the requirements for all the food pantries in the area.
